about me

Ebonie Marie is a Compton native, but New York–based actor, award-winning poet, songwriter, and teaching artist who believes in storytelling as a vehicle for truth-telling, healing, and liberation. Known for her captivating energy, ability to seamlessly move through genres, and creative activism, she brings depth and relatability to every space she enters.

Her poetry is emotionally grounded and deeply personal, centering themes of womanhood, grief, joy, love, and spiritual reclamation. As a songwriter, her work has landed on Netflix, BET, and national commercials.

Most recently, she wrote and performed her debut one-woman show, do we look FINE, as her master’s thesis in Acting. The performance featured original poetry, music, and well-researched vignettes, anchored by a 30-page dissertation delivered through a biting, commentary-style narrator. The piece shines light on her personal heartbreak while inviting hope, confronting the systemic barriers Black artists face in higher-ed Fine Arts programs.

Ebonie is also the creative force behind the Instagram comedy series I’m Just Here For The Comments and Fresh Film Fridays. Brands like BET, Sprite, and KJLH have recognized her magnetic presence, enlisting her talents as a host, panel moderator, and content creator.

She holds both an M.A. and B.A. in Dramatic Arts, with a focus in Acting and Performance. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a three-time study abroad scholar, and a California credentialed educator, Ebonie has designed and led trauma-informed workshops in reflective journaling, acting, songwriting and public speaking.

Whether she’s curating safe spaces behind the scenes or bringing characters to life in front of an audience, Ebonie is committed to creating unforgettable art that uplifts, challenges, and inspires change on stage, screen, and beyond.
